Character Summary: the daughter of a magical crime lords in a world in which magic practitioners are criminals by default, lila is ambitious, fierce, and a little bit crazy after having been trapped in a cat's body for three years to further her cousin's plot to take over the family business. now once again the de facto heir, she struggles to maintain her own independence and prove herself in a misogynistic world while also, like, trying to remember how to be a person and stuff.

• Character worst fears/traumas?
* being trapped/imprisoned, especially in a small cramped space - stems from her experience of being trapped as a cat in a tiny cage for three years. any kind of confinement, literal or metaphorical, will trigger panic
* not having control of her own body - because of her transformation into/time trapped as a cat as well as her monster transformation into a shade.
* not having control of her own emotions - from being emotionally manipulated (regular) and emotion worked (magical). lila struggles to trust her own emotions because she has past experience of not knowing if they were really hers at all
* being forgotten - ties into her fear of memory work. similarly, memory loss terrifies her. she saw firsthand what it did to barron and it freaks her the fuck out.
* not being real - influenced by her time as a shade, her dream work and resultant blowback nightmares, and her time as a cat, during which she did a bunch of dissociating
* isolation (emotional and physical)
* caring for others and being vulnerable as a result
* physical touch - its presence and absence. touch from another person's bare hands is a threat in her experience, but she has spent a lot of time not being able to interact with things physically as a shade

*full description: A poseable wolf toy, made of dark polished rosewood - among other things. The fangs are real carved bone, the claws are cool metal, and a pair of yellow glass eyes round out its fierce little face. There's a mane of soft dark fur running down its spine and spreading into a fluffy tail, and soft leather makes up its squishy pawpads. Little white spots have been painted where they belong on its snout, shoulders, and so on. While it makes for a very charming display piece, it's clearly been designed to be handled, with its variety of textures.
